Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
PositiveNewsIndia ("we", "us") is a free feed of positive, heritage and culture videos for India, operated by EcoSanskriti Innovation, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). You can reach us any time at sasmalgiri@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, and optionally your name, when you create an account. Authentication is handled by our processor, Supabase.
- Session cookies: essential cookies that keep you signed in. Without them, login would not work.
- Your activity: if you save videos, we store the list of video IDs you saved, linked to your account.
- Technical logs: standard data such as IP address and browser type, used to operate and secure the service.
The service is free — we do not collect or store any payment, card or UPI information, and we do not sell your personal data.
Why we use it (purpose)
- To provide the service — sign-in and your saved list.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To respond to your requests and support queries.
Who processes your data
We rely on Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting), and YouTube / Google (videos are embedded from YouTube). When you play a video, YouTube may set its own cookies under Google's Privacy Policy — that happens in YouTube's player, and we do not control it. We do not transfer your data to anyone else except as needed to run these services or as required by law.
How long we keep it
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (or ask us to), we delete your profile and saved list.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to erase it / delete your account;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance about how we handle your data.
To exercise any of these, email sasmalgiri@gmail.com from your registered address. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.
Grievance redressal
For any privacy concern or grievance, contact our grievance point of contact at sasmalgiri@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
The service is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
